And poor Toyota is not even on the list, but hey they had a rough year and if it weren’t for those recalls should have been in the top ten also!

A couple of heavy weeks!

I haven’t been back writing on this blog for about a few months, and it’s mostly because I have been just so busy to sit down and write! You see it all started when April hit. As some of you might know, I am currently supervising the construction of my grandmother’s house. And last April, the end of that month was the start of the Annual Town Fiesta of San Jacinto. My mom’s family is Hermana Mayor of the Church so there were lots of preparations to make. Plus my aunt came from the States on vacation. Plus, my mom was either at Thailand or Georgia or Mindanao the past week (She’s at Mindanao as I write and when she gets back is headed straight to Sri Lanka) so I had my hands full with errands. And lastly, we were preparing for the final awarding of the Candaba Wetlands Center Design Competition (which was a huge success!). So you can just imagine my schedule!!

Nowadays though I’m quite okay. Although Villa Jacinta is still around 80% complete and is having a quite of a predicament now, and I got myself a new contract to build a 4th floor storey and penthouse at Cebu, plus another residential project coming up start of June, and not to mention I start my graduate studies classes this June also… I think I can handle to start writing at two or three tidbits a week!

Who says UP had no facilities? This is actually old news, but any good news is worth posting again! The College of Architecture has recently installed a new ATM machine. Now rich students can think twice about enrolling to the College – it now has the facility for them to quickly fatten their wallets when their not-so-well-off friends peer pressure them for lunch!

Hey everybody! This year, the World Wetlands Day will be held on February 2, 2010. This year’s motto is “CARING FOR WETLANDS, an answer to Climate Change.”

RAMSAR has released a poster for dissemination and here it is below:

In the Philippines, a program will be held at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wild Life Ampitheatre at the Quezon City in celebration of World Wetlands Day. The program invitation is seen below:

The event will showcase winners of the Philippines Wetlands Conservation Awards and Design Concept Entries to the Candaba Wetlands Center Design Competition. Prominent figures that will be at the event include: Dr. Theresa Mundita Lim Director of Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau, DENR; Dr. Candido A. Cabrido Jr., President of the Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands; Honorary. Eleazar P. Quinto, Acting Secretary of DENR; Attorney Roger Quevedo of G-Star Ventures, and Ms. Amy Morado Lecciones, Vice-President of the Soicety for the Conservation of Philippines Wetlands.
